Loves Park, IL- Race teams are reminded that Round I of the Gilley's
Cool 5 Series will take place on Saturday May 21 at Rockford Speedway.
No team in any division will be allowed to qualify or compete on more
than two fresh tires and those tires will be recorded into their bank
of tires for use at Rockford. Racing action will include the NASCAR
Stanley Steemer Late Models, Bargain Hunter Sportsman, Budweiser
American Short Trackers and Mtn Dew RoadRunners.
Gilley's, along with American Standard, Armstrong and York have put
this program together, with the 2011 Late Model Gilley's Champion
taking home $3500 cash for his efforts, both the Sportsman and
American Short Tracker Champions will win $2000 each while the
RoadRunner Champ earns a $750 bonus. The top three drivers in each
division will receive a share of the $12,500 established point fund.
