LOVES PARK, Ill. – Justin Dowdy is back in Class AAA.
The San Francisco Giants promoted the left-handed pitcher to their top farm team, the Fresno Grizzlies, last week. Dowdy made his Fresno debut last weekend in a pair of relief appearances against the New Orleans Zephyrs.
He's 0-1 with a 6.75 earned-run average in the Pacific Coast League. Dowdy took a 5-2 loss on Sunday.
Dowdy began the season with Class AA Richmond of the Eastern League. He was 4-0 with an 0.82 ERA and a save. He averaged nearly a strikeout an inning in 12 appearances...
